Privacy policy

Your repair details stay yours. Here is exactly how we handle them.

This page is in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, message us on WhatsApp and we will explain it.

What we collect

• Your name, phone or WhatsApp number, and email (email is optional).
• Your area or PIN code, so we can plan pickup or a home visit.
• Your device details and a short description of the problem.
• Photos or videos you send us on WhatsApp, and our notes about the repair.

Why we collect it

• To contact you about your repair request.
• To write your quote, do the repair, and keep a repair record.
• To send your invoice and status updates.
• To keep proof of what was agreed — this protects you as much as us.

Where it is stored

Your details are stored in a password-protected repair system hosted on secure Cloudflare infrastructure. Only the engineer who handles your repair can see your job file. We never sell or rent your details to anyone.

Who else can see it

• Cloudflare runs our website, form protection (Turnstile) and storage.
• Resend delivers our emails (your quote or invoice) to your inbox.
• WhatsApp/Meta — if you message us on WhatsApp, that chat follows WhatsApp's own privacy rules.
• Specialist partners — only if your repair needs one (for example a data-recovery lab). We tell you before sharing anything, share the minimum needed, and name the partner.

Passwords and your files

We do not ask for your passwords for normal checks. If a repair truly needs access to your files or accounts, we agree the exact scope with you in writing first, and we touch only what the repair needs. Never send a password on WhatsApp.

How long we keep it

We keep your repair record while the warranty can still be used and for basic accounting after that. You can ask us to delete your details at any time — we will keep only what the law requires us to keep.

Your choices

• Ask for a copy of your data.
• Ask us to correct anything wrong.
• Ask us to delete your details.
• Ask us to stop messaging you.

One WhatsApp message to +91 98049 91098 or an email to privacy@bytesherlock.com is enough. We act within 7 days.

Cookies

This site does not run advertising trackers. Cloudflare Turnstile (the small security check on our form) may set a temporary cookie to prove you are human.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
